Barbara goes “Full Equip” in Spain

Norrøna Ambassador Barbara Raudner is enjoying an escape to the crags of sunny Spain, keeping her climbing shape on top through winter, and scoring another nice, hard route: “Full Equip”, 8c, in Oliana

“Oliana is a municipality in the Comarca of the Alt Urgell in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the Segre valley in an amazing landscape. It is actually the hot-spot of climbing – not only in Catalonia but Europewide – and many hard routes are situated on the crag above the municipality. For sure that Hannes and I also wanted to climb in Oliana where the routes are really long and amazing, the climbers are very motivated and the atmosphere is great. So what do you need more to spend a good time in sunny Catalonia :-) !

„Full Equip“ is one of the numerous beautiful routes in Oliana and fascinated me from the first moment on. The 35 meters line was equipped by Victor Fernandez. It starts with a boulder problem, followed by three more hard sections and is very endurance demanding. I was not used to the style of climbing slightly overhanging slabs and I therefore really had fun with my new challenge. The route consists only of very small grimps and sidepulls and when checking out the moves I split my finger tip on the sharp holdes, so I had to spread my attempts over several weeks. This was no problem at all because there are so many more nice areas and routes in Spain. Now I finally managed to climb „Full Equip“ and I am very happy about the send because it is such an incredible line… Have fun!
