The new Norrøna falketind collection passes on the legacy of it’s predecessor, getting a huge amount of positive feedback and top test results, already just a couple of months after hitting the market this spring.
Our new Norrøna falketind flex1 jacket just won German Outdoor Magazine’s big test of soft shell Jackets for summer use in the June 2011 issue, and is described as “Eine Softshell par excellence!” and “Simply perfect!”. The jacket scores top in all three activity categories of the test, trekking, hiking and mountaineering, and the conclusion is that with this jacket, “Compromise belongs to the past”.
Perfect and without compromises, is that possible? What’s the catch? “There is none”, says Outdoor Magazine, “except for the price”, which places the jacket at the high end of the testfield. But then again, we never said we were trying to make the cheapest products, just the best.
The test winning previous generation of falketind products would be proud to see it’s offspring passing on the heritage and taking lightweight mountaineering weather protection to the next level, so are we!

Main fabric is our flex1 soft shell, which offers very good wind protection as well as some water resistance, while still breathing extremely good. The fabric is stretchy and soft, making the jacket very comfortable to wear. Reinforcements on hip, shoulder and hood is in 100% windproof Wind Stopper fabric for even better weather protection.
Pockets are placed high in order to not interfere with harness and back pack hip belts, and fit of the jacket allows big range of movement, with articulated elbows and Y-shaped sleeves.
The hood fits a helmet of course, and features the new fully one hand adjustment system found also on all the other new falketind jackets.
How do we make the “simply perfect” jacket even better next time around? That’s where our users come in. Our customers and our testing ambassadors are extremely demanding, and are never afraid to tell us about their ideas, experiences and what can be approved in our products. We are also working closely with the manufacturers of our fabrics and material, in order to develop better fabrics and make sure we find the very best fabrics out there for our different products. Who knows where we will be with future products and fabrics some years from now?
