The hiking season has finally arrived!
If you ask people why they go hiking they would probably come up with different answers. Some would paint a nostalgic picture from their childhood, walking up a hill with their grandparents picking up treasures such as leaves, heart shaped stones and berries. Others would remember their first mountain top crossed on the bucket list. Some would emphasise the peace and tranquility they get when breathing fresh air in a beautiful scenery. Not to mention connections made when going on a hike together. If a hike doesn’t strengthen a relationship, what does?
Eight out of ten Norwegians go hiking in the country’s forests and mountains regularly, according to a survey by Statistisk Sentralbyrå (Statistics Norway). Hiking, and especially hiking in the mountains, in fact, seems to have been embedded in the Norwegian soul forever. x
Comfort is key.
Take a look at our hiking back packs.
All of Norrøna´s backpacks are made from 100% recycled materials
All our materials for SS20 bulk backpacks are from Econyl – which is a brand name for regenerated Nylon from company called Aquafill, explains product developer Karolina Pustelnik.
Nylon waste from landfills and oceans around the world is transformed into ECONYL® regenerated nylon. It’s exactly the same as brand new nylon and can be recycled, recreated and remoulded again and again.
That means you can create new products and buy new products without having to use new resources.
ECONYL® regenerated nylon is a product that can help you close the loop. Made from waste, it’s infinitely recyclable and can unleash infinite possibilities for makers, creators and consumers. It’s all part of the ECONYL® brand vision to make the world a better place by pioneering closed loop regeneration processes and delivering sustainable products.
ECONYL® regenerated nylon is a product of Aquafil, a global leader in the synthetic fibres industry and a pioneer in quality, innovation and sustainability.
